DivX not so secret beta…
While browsing DivX’s website, we’ve noticed a posting on their ‘DivX Labs’ section along the lines of “Want to beta test some super-secret DivX stuff?”. The post was accompanied by a blurred logo … playing hard to get are we? Never one to turn down an indirect challenge of intellect, we put on our cyber-detective hats and hacked into their system and obtained the unblurred logo. By hacking, we mean checking the source code, and noticing:
1) the filename is: Connected-Logo-Blured224.png
2) alt=”DivX Connected”
Clue 2 practically begged us to google for DivX Connected. Apparently their plans for DivX Connected were quite publicized, but almost all the sites we’ve check left out the logo, so we couldn’t be 100% sure whether we were on the right track. Lo and behold, a link to DivX Labs’ older post with the matching logo. Score! Cybersleuthing:1 DivX:0.
Classic case of right hand not knowing the left, we hear you say. Ironically, both posts were posted by the same person -_-” . Anyway from the details posted online, DivX Connected is probably going on a direct collision course with Apple iTV very soon. We’ll spare you the details and leave that for another day. Suffice to say, it’s something to keep an eye out for.
